Vojtěch Pojar is an advanced doctoral student at Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. His research lies at the intersection of the history of political thinking and history of knowledge, and focuses particularly on the history of eugenics in post-Habsburg East Central Europe. In 2017, Vojtěch graduated from CEU (MA, hons) with a thesis Quality over Quantity: Expert Knowledge and the Politics of Food in Prague. His current project examines the changing roles of expert knowledge in the transitions from the Habsburg Empire to the mini-empires that replaced it, using the networks and discourses of eugenicists based in post-Habsburg spaces as examples.
